Golf Cart Transfer to Villa Duketis, Rovinj Old Town

Rovinj's Old Town is a protected pedestrian zone. No cars, no taxis, no shuttle buses — the lanes are stone, narrow, and centuries older than the car. If you're arriving with luggage, here is exactly how you get to our door.

Why you can't drive to the door

Villa Duketis sits at Iza Kasarne 8, about 50 metres from the Main Square, deep inside the historic core. The entire Old Town is closed to regular traffic to protect the stone streets and the character of the place. That's part of why it's so quiet at night — and it's the one thing that catches guests off guard on arrival day.

The small electric golf cart is the only vehicle permitted inside the zone. It's how deliveries arrive, how luggage moves, and how we get guests and suitcases to the house without a twenty-minute walk over cobblestones.

Golf cart transfer — €15 one way

We can arrange a golf cart to collect you and your luggage from wherever you've parked — or from the bus station, the harbour, anywhere in town — and bring you directly to the villa entrance. One flat price, no matter which parking zone you chose.

It's worth it most if you're carrying more than a small bag, arriving in summer heat, travelling with children, or parking in the cheaper zones further out.

Where to park first

You'll need to leave the car outside the zone regardless. Three realistic options:

A practical trick: park briefly at the closest city parking, drop your luggage at the villa, then move the car to Zone 4 for the rest of your stay.

How to arrange it

Just message us before you arrive and tell us roughly when you'll get to Rovinj and where you plan to park. We'll have the cart meet you. It's easiest over WhatsApp — you'll get an answer from Marko or Eleni, not a booking system.

Check-in is from 15:00 to 23:00. If you're arriving outside those hours, tell us and we'll sort it out.

If you'd rather walk

Plenty of guests do. From the closest city parking it's roughly a 5-minute walk on mostly flat ground. From Zone 4 it's about 14 minutes, with some gentle uphill on stone near the end. Wheeled suitcases work, but cobblestones are cobblestones — they're loud and slow.
